Modern languages at the Lycée français international de Bangkok
The teaching of modern languages at the Lycée français international de Bangkok (LFIB) is based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), in line with the Plan de rénovation de l’enseignement des langues vivantes launched by the French Ministry of Education in 2005.
LFIB offers its students language courses designed to foster the development of plurilingual/pluricultural skills and help them create their own personalized path to success in languages, according to their profile, tastes and career wishes.
Secondary school language policy
LFIB pursues an ambitious language policy, in line with the 2014-2017 Strategic Orientation Plan (actions 17 to 20) of the Agence pour l’enseignement français à l’étranger (AEFE) and Circular 2177 “AEFE language policy: for a multilingual education”.

Certifications
LFIB strongly encourages all its students to validate their studies by taking the exams offered by recognized external certification bodies:
– the DELF and DALF examinations offered in French by CIEP and Alliance française
– Cambridge Esol English language certifications
– Goethe Institut certifications in German
– Instituto Cervantes Spanish language certifications
– Mandarin certification issued by the People’s Republic of China (HSK).
