🏀 Asia-Pacific 3x3 Basketball Cup at LFIB

From 12 to 15 March, the Lycée Français International de Bangkok (LFIB) hosted the very first edition of the Asia-Pacific 3×3 Basketball Cup, a sporting event bringing together delegations from French schools across the region.

Eleven delegations took part in this first edition: Bangkok, Guangzhou, Singapore, Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh City, Phnom Penh, Shanghai, Tokyo, New Delhi, Koh Samui and Manila. Over three days of competition, students competed in the dynamic 3×3 basketball format, characterised by short games and a fast succession of matches, encouraging intensity, commitment and team spirit.

Hosting this competition was a great success for LFIB and highlights the vitality of school sport within the network of French schools in the Asia-Pacific region.

Students enjoyed a particularly enriching experience, marked by the enthusiasm of the players, the commitment of staff, and a friendly atmosphere that encouraged exchanges between schools across the region.

As part of their stay in Bangkok, the delegations also had the opportunity to attend professional 3×3 basketball games during the Champions Cup held simultaneously at CentralWorld, allowing students to discover the sport at the highest level.

Results:

In U18 boys, the Tokyo team defeated Hong Kong in the final. The LFIB team secured an excellent third place after their victory against Phnom Penh.

In U18 girls, Hong Kong finished first, ahead of Tokyo and Phnom Penh.

In U15 boys, Hong Kong won the final against the Bangkok team, while Phnom Penh completed the podium.

In U15 girls, Tokyo came first ahead of Hong Kong and Singapore, with New Delhi also finishing on the podium.
