Nos jeunes stratèges sont de retour à Bangkok ! 🇹🇭✈️

After two intense days competing at the Prozap Chess Tournament in Tokyo, our students returned to class with plenty of memories and amazing experiences to share. This year’s edition gathered 108 players from across the region, with an especially high level of competition: strong opponents, players rated up to 1900 ELO !, and even the privilege of playing under the watchful eye of International Grandmaster Jacques Pineau, coach of the Tokyo team.

🏆 And what a tournament it was for our students!

The highlight came from middle school: Lilih, reigning national G14 champion, finished in 1st place with an outstanding score of 5.5/6 🥇👏 An incredible achievement that will surely inspire future players at our school!

Some other remarkable performances:

  • Primary School: Congratulations to Paco (10th) and Noémie (11th), who both finished near the top out of 40 participants. Kevin and Elias also played some excellent matches.
  • Middle School: Alongside Lilih’s victory, Léo secured a fantastic 9th place, while Samuel fought hard in a very competitive category.
  • High School: Arthur and Gaspard showed great determination and exemplary focus against highly experienced players.

Team spirit was also on full display: Bangkok finished 4th in Primary School (just missing the podium!) and 7th in Secondary School in the team competition.

Beyond the results, we are especially proud of our students’ attitude, sportsmanship, and commitment throughout the entire trip.

A huge congratulations to all our players for proudly representing the school!
