One-day introductory course in Thai language and culture
Introductory day to Thai language and culture, Saturday October 4, 2025.
As every year, the Thai language department organized a day of cultural and linguistic discovery for new LFIB staff. 🌏🤝
This outing took us to Wat Khanon, a temple in Ratchaburi province, home to the museum of Nang Yai, an ancestral art of shadow puppetry that originated in the Ayutthaya era. An impressive collection of historic puppets, some over two centuries old, are carefully preserved here. 🏯🪶
Through large, finely carved leather puppets, one of Ramakien’s most memorable episodes, entitled “The Quest for the Path”, came to life in shadow form, accompanied by traditional music and captivating storytelling. 🪄🎭🎶
In the afternoon, language and culture workshops were held in the temple’s large auditorium. In a warm and relaxed atmosphere, new members of the LFIB community were able to learn the Thai language or deepen their knowledge. 📝😊🌸
It was a day rich in exchanges and discoveries, placed under the sign of Thai cultural authenticity. 🌿✨🇹🇭
A big thank you to everyone for your participation and enthusiasm! 🙏🎉❤️
